I really like the design ,it is functional and simple. Nanamica new cycling bag for their Spring/Summer 2011. The price tag may be a bit on the high side at £280. But never the less a good clean design.

I came across this illustrations/paintings a few weeks ago and have been meaning to mention them. Amose has a really unique style that i have fallen for. From the colours used to the shapes are all yet complex, giving me the impression that it is all very considered. Also i like how the patterns seem to ad texture and depth .

James Perse Cruiser

I never really been a great fan of the racer bicycle but when i saw these beach crusiers i had fallen for them. Originally popularised in the '50s and '60s, the Beach Cruiser is known for its stylistic fat tires that can handle sand, wide-style handlebars and coaster brakes.

Since moving to germany i have really wanted to get a bike, and i have seen a few of these around, and love the all black look.

This "James Perse Cruiser" might be a bit out of my price range, this costing £1562.06. but it will be looking for one soon. if you want one have a look here.

I really am loving the stylised work of John Fellows. He tends to work on a small scale to keep the work more intimate, he says "I want the audience ti have to step a little closer to the work and really look at it, not just see it in passing 6 feet away."He has a great selection of his work here.

His Air Force 1 “Sneaker Speakers” are fully functional speakers that where created for the Havana Club design contest which challenged designers to reappropriate items into something suited for a different application.

I came across this gem of a tee. Made by Marc Stromberg, a Swedish born designer has made this a tee that when used in conjunction with a web cam creates an augmented reality that allows you to play rock paper scissors against your t-shirt it probably best just to watch the below video. Really nice idea bringing a new dimension to interactive.

My new place ..... for a while

I have had my first week its been great and got a temporary place for a month. Until i have found a permanent one. to be honest it has been pretty easy to settle in, people have been great and Nuremberg is a beautiful city with old building and a amazing castle.

I do admit i miss London, and going out in a big city but i have realised that it what you make of it, plus its so much easier to meet people and not take and 1hr to get across town....

So I have been working in London for Puma for a while now, and have made the big move over to the headquarters in Herzogenaurach (it 14 miles outside Nuremberg). I will be working in the same department so the work is not new, but the people are and it will be a new way of life. bring on the beer!!

So back in June last year i went over to Germany for a month for work, it was a big change from London but been given chance to be able to work in another country i grabbed it with both hands.

I was a great experience and i did make the most of it. I have now been given a chance to move for permanent and i have taken it !!!

Right its a fact i love lego and i love using letterpress and the idea of the two being combined is just fricking amazing.

Physical Fiction and small design studio came up with the idea of clamping lego pieces in a frame and selling these limited prints, can wait for mine to come. You can buy them here

This Sunday 14th November adidas and VICE are throwing A Big Free Party at a Secret London Location, with two SPECIAL SECRET GUESTS. They have not revealed who is headlining yet. Also DJ Mehdi, Busy P are djing and FREE drinks.

Architect Hideyuki Nakayama has done a great colab with door handle manufacturers Union. They have created this glass globe doorknob. As you approach the doorknob you catch a glimpse of what appears to be another world, waiting for you to enter and join, but in fact is a reflection of the room on the other side of the door. On display at Plain People in Aoyama.

Kareen Iliya is an international fashion illustrator. I saw her lastest work "Dandy Ball", for Perrier Jouët. I really like pink and green silhouetted of images created using water colours its just amazing. Plus the incorporation of Perrier Jouët signature flowers glowing woman’s dress and the man’s boutonnière work well and seem to bring this dream like image to life. The V&A commissioned TROIKA to create a permanent sign for the V&A entrance leading from the South Kensington tube station to the Museum.

Troika produced this amazing piece called 'Palindrome', a kinetic sign that works with the logo and de-contructs and reconnects itself with each half turn forming a playful palindrome legible from either side while the wheels produce a gentle ticking sound. Kind of like an old Victorian clockwork toy. Check the video here.

Wonderbra placed this 20ft ad near London's Waterloo Station on Waterloo Road. It is a fun and interesting use of the 3d imaging technique, lets hope people don't get offended for this funny ad.

Thin Black Lines

Thin Black Lines by Nendo (a Japanese design studio) created this black wire chair. It is part of a larger collection of work includes a chair and clothes rack intended to appear as sketches in the air or calligraphy symbols.

There is an exhibition in London at the saatchi gallery opening on the 20th of september. definitional work a look.

Made by Russian designer Anatoly Zenkov, in a bid to explore his routine work. Working with his colleague Andrey Shipilov they created this program.

IOGraph is an application that turns mouse movements into a modern art. The idea is that you just run it and do your usual day stuff at the computer. Go back to IOGraph after a while and grab a nice picture of what you’ve done!

I found it great little program, and have started a little collection( that hopeful i will turn in to a project). The image you see is of me working for 9.5hrs.

Col-Letto Bed from Lago

I do enjoy a good sleep and when I saw this I thought it was worth a post. This bed by Lago is really unusual, it has a soft foam ring around it, intended to act as a barrier from light and sound to give you a sound sleep.

What i found really intresting is that the ring could be folded back in diffrent ways or positions to allow the consumer aesthetic variation.

Nike - Power Laces

This is crazy, i remember seeing a competition that was trying to make the "back to the future" shoes that where self tying a few years back.

Nike did release the Nike Hyperdunk in the original movie colour way but it lacked the "power laces". There was some amateur attempts but they where not pretty and too bulky.

Nike's patented a new technology to make them REAL and not as bulky and includes a charging station.

I really hope that these are put into production and are not just a defense move from Nike to stop rip-offs, fingers crossed.

Yong Ho Ji

Yong Ho Ji is an amazing Korean artist he uses old, recycled tire scraps to make epic (and i do mean EPIC) sculptures. He uses rubber tires as his medium, he believes that malleable nature and texture is a close approximation to skin and muscles.

I think it’s amazing that he’s able to combine all these materials and create these epic sculptures. The layering and details that he is able to achieve is just mind blowing to me, and I would love to see one of these in person and be able to feel the texture. He recently had a public exhibition in Hong Kong by Causeway Bay area its on until the 22 August 2010, all i need to do is get a flight.

I came across this jewellery designer that is based in Shoreditch a while ago at an exhibition at the Saatchi gallery (think it was around May time).

I really liked her work, not something i would wear. Really liked this wooden necklace and how it is kept in the stag shaped holder. It does look mire like a sculture that can be used as jewellery.

Another thing i really liked was how they have kept the same design but scaled it down to create a bracelet and a ring. Have a look at more of her work here.

I really love the Tapi by Dreamfarm. i do tend not to use a glass when i want a quick drink and the turns the tap into a fountain, all you have to do it squeeze it to use it as a fountain. great bit of design and only £3.95, bargain.

Pilot new campaign done in colabartation with Lego to showcase there new extra fine pen. Great little campaign that showcase the level of detail you are able to get. Not sure how this appeals to the under 7's buying lego, but i would definitely get one of the figures.

"Gabbani is the oldest delicatessen in the swiss italian part (since 1937). It is an old family business that survived and flourished until become the reference for the best in the state of art of food. 30 People are working to serve the best as possible to their costumers."

I really love this mix of black&white Optical-Art that give us a notion of hidden colors and movement and was typical of the 60ies and the logo which is still clean yet has a references to the era of when the company was established.

Anthony acting as Director and the only animator said that he created the entire project just under 5 months, only working within Flash. Was just mesmerised by this piece.

Really like this animation, nearly every frame is a moving illustration. The style of the piece reduces forms to a graphical simplicity, making the visual language of the film both graceful and crude. I love the use of negative space it enforces the idea of isolation between the characters. Check out his website here

Kulula (South Africa’s favourite low fare airline), have recently released this fantastic new aircraft livery entitled “Flying 101”.

Kulula are well known for their fun marketing exploits and this one lives up to their high standards. Each part of the aircraft is labelled with humorous captions such as “Loo (or mile-high initiation chamber)”.

Stella McCartney new collection for Adidas looks really great and practical with the glow in the dark pints and trims. The range has the leopard prints, which are girly and sporty. This was another brilliant piece of work that was shown in the "one year on " category at new designer, produced by designer Samuel Wilson this interesting cross-over of origami and modern sculpture is a true modernisation of a ancient craft. Using a slotting technique the piece is light and can flattened in secs but the structure is very strong and surprisingly comfortable. Also have a look at the video here.

"Wall of sun through dust" by Tamar Balakji

Tamar Balakji graduated in 2009, at "New Designer" she had this amazing piece of work, when talking to her she explained how she created these dome structures in the woven wall art. She has exhibited also in Paris and was a finalist in the new design Britain competition and well deserved too.

Tamar continues to work in her studio in North London.

Welsh Leather artist Mark Evans only needs a cow hide and a knife and lots of time it seems to create these etched masterpieces,

Using only a couple of knives, a handful of scalpels and some special waxes, he cuts and rubs away the to surface to allow him to create great tonal values.

He says his interesting in carving came from when his grandfather gave him a knife and he began to carve into bark.

On his move to London he changed to a more conventional material.

Andrzej is not your usual photographer he has a PhD in quantum physics, a strange side job i guess.

Never the less he has become very accomplished in the field of photography winning awards and being published international. His image are a bit odd making me feel uneasy with the perspective and lighting he uses and some what the models he uses, but they do seem to draw you into his pieces more.

Paolo Patrizi photographed a flock of starlings flying above the city of Rome. I think that the coordination of these birds is amazing a true wonder of nature. Such a flock remains together to fend off predators, and when attacked the flock split and change direction. It is a true spectacle and something i could watch for hours.

I quite like how this Belgian artist (Christopher Coppers) defaces the front of magazine covers to produce these chaotic and strangely engaging pieces.

When i first saw this i did think it was done by Jen Starck, as the majority of work involves creating paper sculptures. She also works with drawing and animation. Her work draws inspiration from microscopic patterns in nature and her skill with a scalpel is nuts!!!

I found this little gem on Behance. There is not much info about this Lithuanian product designer, but he has done a few other projects. I think that this is his best. I great simple piece of design, uncomplicated and not over thought just taken to its basic components. A great reinterpretation on a coat stand.

Michiel Schuurman was born in Amsterdam in 1974 and studied graphic design and typography.

His work is amazing, he works mainly with typography and he alters and abstracts it so much that it kind of grows beyond type and more into an image, his some times psychedelic deigns draw you in and I find myself trying to deconstruct the graphic in my mind better understand how it was created.

This has to be one of my favorite videos i saw when i was little (i know it was made in 1965 but i got to see the re-runs) it is one of the many cartoons that will remain a part of what defined my childhood. When I told my friends about this great cartoon, they didn't understand what made it so interesting or funny. The art style alone is enough to try and find this film.

The tone of the narrator (Robert Morley) is perfect, a kind of warm voice that engages you and the simplicity of the story is in great. It kind of reminds me of the silent films of the 1920's.

The legend Chuck Jones and Maurice Noble directed this short animation that was based on the the book of the same name. This animation was such a big hit that in 1965 it won the Academy Award for Animated Short Film, well deserved too. Wish kids had cartoons like this now.

Tucson based artist Nick Georgiou has created these amazing newspaper sculptures.

Inspired by the death of the printed world, economic crisis, and political and environmental uncertainty. He states “Books and newspapers are becoming artifacts of the 21st century. Whatever we used to read off paper, we’re now reading off digital screens. Our way of interacting with text is changing. My work is not only about the decline of the printed word in today’s society but its rebirth as art."

New Blood 2010

This years new blood has finally come around again as the universities graduates finish and start there journey into the working world.

This year the aspiring creatives have descend upon Shoreditch, in the Old Truman Brewery. It was a great location just to visit after work, and on a sunny day it was a most enjoyable evening.

I was impressed with the standard of work this year and the and the efforts that each university put into there stands.

It is well work a visit if you have some free time its open until Monday 28 June.

Billykirk are a LA based company that lovely hand crafted leather goods such as belts, wallets, satchels and travel bags.

One of the things i loved about there products is that they have kept the designs simple and fresh and stayed away from over the top garnishing and tacky details.
